Healthcare accreditation leader to know: Wendi Roberts of The Joint Commission

Wendi Roberts is the executive director for certification for The Joint commission. She has more than 35 years of healthcare administration, medical legal consulting and clinical nursing experience.

In her current role, Ms. Roberts is responsible for product strategy, marketing and growth for The Joint Commission’s Certification Programs and Strategic Business Unit in the division of Business Development and Governmental Relations. She has experience in senior leaderships serving local communities in Illinois and Wisconsin.

Ms. Roberts is also the co-lead for The Joint Commission’s Emergency Management Update Team. She has a background in emergency medicine and critical care in addition to ambulatory and occupational medicine. She is a certified medical legal consultant and manages her own consulting business.

Ms. Roberts is a Six Sigma Green Belt through the University of Notre Dame.

She earned her RN from The College of Lake County in Grayslake, Ill.
