The state Department of Health filed a complaint against Dr. Lama after a former patient complained of the quality of care she received by one of his employees. Dr. Lama has agreed to pay the fines and investigative costs and committed to better monitoring employee’s credentials in the future.

“It was a misunderstanding on my part of what that person could do or could not do,” Dr. Lama said. The employee no longer works for Dr. Lama.
