This latest accreditation, extended for another three-year period, demonstrates that DISC’s surgery centers continue to provide the highest quality of standards and care as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation.
Status as an accredited organization means DISC has met nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care set by AAAHC. While more than 5,000 ambulatory health care organizations across the United States are accredited by AAAHC, the screening is entirely voluntary.
“Since opening the doors of our first center in 2006, the DISC team has chosen to hold itself to the highest standards for delivering patient care,” said founder and neurosurgeon Robert S. Bray, Jr., MD “We’ve taken steps beyond what’s required of ASCs to elevate our care across safety, quality, infection control, nursing protocols and post-operative education, just to name a few.”
