Accreditation leader to know: Alsie Fitzgerald of AAAHC

Alsie Fitzgerald is a surveyor for the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care, a position she’s held since 2005. She has served as a board member of the Board of Ambulatory Surgery Certification and spent time as the director of clinical operations for HCA’s ambulatory surgery division.

During her time at HCA, she encouraged AAAHC accreditation and worked with individual centers on surveys. From her efforts, the Corporate Quality Alliance manifested.

She currently conducts 30 to 40 surveys per year for both Medicare-certified ambulatory surgery centers and office-based surgery practices. She also mentors new surveyors.
