AAAHC accredits Penn Highlands ASC: 5 key notes

Penn Highlands Elk Ambulatory Surgery Center received three-year re-accreditation, according to a Gant Daily report.

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care conducted the survey and granted the accreditation. Here are five things to know:

1. The ASC opened in 2002 and is dedicated to a streamlined approach for patient efficiency.

2. Specialties at the surgery center include maxillofacial surgery, ophthalmology, plastic surgery, vascular surgery and pain management.

3. There are six physicians and surgeons associated with the center.

4. Kathy Wortman is the center’s clinical director.

5. The surgery center accepts most major insurances.
