AAAHC-accredited center to know: Prairie SurgiCare

Peoria, Ill.-based Prairie SurgiCare achieved accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

Here are three things to know:

1. Prairie SurgiCare was added to the existing Prairie Spine & Pain Institute in April 2012. It is exclusively available to patients of Prairie Spine & Pain Institute in the event that they require a minimally invasive spine procedure or pain management treatment.

2. The 5,700-square-foot addition to the Prairie Spine & Pain Institute has an operating suite designed with positive air pressure, a constant turnover of sterilized air to reduce the likelihood for infection.

3. The surgical suite received a perfect accreditation score from the AAAHC.
