Revisions include:
- The minimum patient volume requirement for survey now applies to both organizations seeking accreditation for the first time and to organizations seeking reaccreditation.
- The minimum patient volume requirement increased to 10 patients served with two active at the time of survey. This is different from the previous requirement: three patients served with one active at the time of survey.
- Those who review the quality of an organization’s care, treatment or services now must always include clinicians who have knowledge of the type of care, treatment or services provided, rather than just “when appropriate.”
- A licensed independent practitioner must that authorize tests, treatments and interventions are in accordance with state and federal requirements.
- Organizations must have a facility license or registration to conduct its scope of services, if required by law.
