Vanderbilt University Selects New Head of Anesthesiology

Warren Sandberg, MD, PhD, has been selected as the new chair of anesthesiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., starting in April, according to a report in the Vanderbilt Reporter.

Dr. Sandberg is an associate professor of anesthesia at Harvard Medical School in Boston. He received his PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Chicago and his medical degree from University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine.

Dr. Sandberg was recruited through a nationwide search led by Vanderbilt’s Sam Santoro, MD, PhD, according to the report.
