The faculty developed the tool to help it more accurately and efficiently meet the new Next Accreditation System requirements being implemented by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. The new NAS requirements are aimed at tracking learning “milestones” and they will take effect in July 2014 for anesthesiology residencies across the nation.
The automated case evaluation tool provides immediate feedback on the performance of residents and tracks their progress, according to the report.
