Here’s what you should know:
1. Dr. Newman currently serves as president of Durham, N.C.-based Duke University Medical Center’s physician practice plan Private Diagnostic Clinic. He has been in the position since 2014.
2. He will begin his tenure at University of Kentucky in October.
3. Dr. Newman is succeeding Michael Karpf, MD, who led UK HealthCare for approximately 15 years.
4. Dr. Newman said in a release, “As executive vice president for health affairs at the University of Kentucky, I will be helping lead one of the nation’s renowned institutions of higher learning, research and clinical care as well as returning to my home state.”
