The poll includes responses from 750 registered voters in Florida.
Key findings from the poll include:
• When given the choice, 81 percent felt a physician should be the chief decision-maker regarding anesthesia versus 12 percent who said a nurse anesthetist should be on equal footing when it comes to making decisions about anesthesia.
• Seventy nine percent felt that a physician anesthesiologist was best qualified to administer anesthesia during surgery as compared to 9 percent who said a nurse was best qualified.
