Three things to know:
1. Five Wisconsin locations and one in Mankato, Minn., opened their doors between May 12 and June 1, after COVID-19-related shutdowns forced 42 furloughs across Advanced Pain Management’s 25 locations.
2. Although Advanced Pain Management received a $408,511 grant through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act and $379,598 through CMS’ Accelerated and Advance Payment Program expansion, the practice will permanently lay off six employees from its corporate office.
3. Advanced Pain Management is “taking a phased approach” to reopening the rest of its health centers. In a statement to Milwaukee Business Journal, the practice said it is optimistic about its future despite earlier concerns about permanent closure.
