Anesthesiologists and general surgeons make more money on average than any other profession in the country, followed closely by emergency room physicians, obstetricians/gynecologists and psychiatrists, according to reports by CNN Money and Young Money.

The debate over whether CRNAs should be allowed to administer anesthesia without physician supervision has continued throughout the country on the heels of Colorado becoming the 16th state to opt out of the federal Medicare rule.
