Normal Weight Anesthesiologists Exercise Twice a Week: Survey Says

Most anesthesiologists who claim to be normal weight exercise at least twice a week, according to Medscape’s Anesthesiologist Lifestyle Report 2014.

The report includes data from a survey that polled 413,386 U.S. physicians. Around 31,400 physicians were from 25 specialty areas. The fieldwork was conducted by Medscape from Oct. 16 to Dec. 4 2013.

When asked whether they exercise at least twice a week, respondents reported the following:

•    Anesthesiologists who claim to be normal weight — between 70 and 80 percent
•    Anesthesiologists who claim to be overweight — around 60 percent
•    Anesthesiologists who claim to be obese — between 30 and 40 percent
