The proposed pieces of legislation are A2268 and S2218 and are sponsored by Assemblyman Vincent Prieto (D-Secaucus) and Sen. Loretta Weinberg (D-Teaneck).
Dr. Moss also encourages readers to contact New Jersey State Commissioner of Health and Senior Services Poonam Alaigh, MD, to challenge the proposed regulations.
To date, 15 states have fully opted out of the federal requirement for physician supervision, with Colorado opting out for specific hospitals in September.
