1. The health is ending agreement because AllCare Clinical Associates is being acquired by Surgery Partners — an out-of-area, for-profit entity.
2. According to Ron Paulus, MD, Mission Health’s main aim is to ensure “care is available for all patients in Western North Carolina whether they can pay for the services or not.”
3. The acquisition has created significant concerns for Mission, Dr. Paulus noted.
4. Around 115 AllCare nurses and physicians provide services to Mission.
5. The health system is planning to moves services in-house and considering other supplemental anesthesia care providers.
