MiraMed Global Services and its subsidiary Anesthesia Business Consultants launched the MiraMed Circle of Warmth Campaign through a partnership with a Detroit-based nonprofit organization.

Here’s what you should know:

1. MiraMed and ABC are raising funds for The Empowerment Plan.

2. The Empowerment Plan hires single parents from local homeless shelters and provides them with full-time employment as seamstresses. The seamstresses create the Empwr coat — a coat that transforms into a sleeping bag and an over-the-shoulder bag.

3. The coats cost $125 to make and have been distributed throughout the U.S. and in 10 Canadian provinces.
