Michigan Medicine names anesthesiologist Dr. Andrew Rosenberg CIO — 4 insights

Ann Arbor-based Michigan Medicine appointed Andrew Rosenberg its inaugural system-wide CIO.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Dr. Rosenberg served as interim CIO since January 2016.

2. In the position, Dr. Rosenberg will be in charge of “enhancing collaboration” between the health system and its IT providers.

3. Dr. Rosenberg became a tenured associate professor of anesthesiology in 2007. He became Michigan Medicine’s first chief medical information officer in 2010.

4. He earned his medical degree and completed a residency at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medical School. He completed fellowships in anesthesiology, critical care medicine and health services research as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar.
