Joint Commission Recognizes NAPA, Quality Department at Nassau University Medical Center for Sedation Records

The Joint Commission has recognized the newly revised sedation records at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, N.Y., that were upgraded as a result of a joint effort by North American Partners in Anesthesia and the department of quality management at the hospital.

The revised records have been recognized by The Joint Commission as a benchmark for quality and safety and have been accepted into The Joint Commission’s leading practice library.

The revision process began in July 2012 and was led by NAPA’s Raymond Pesso, MD, chairman of the department of anesthesia at NUMC, and Julianne Prendergast, RN, clinical investigator of the department of quality.
