Dr. John Reynolds tapped for North Carolina Medical Society's top spot — 3 insights

The North Carolina Medical Society appointed anesthesiologist John Reynolds, MD, its 164th president at its annual meeting Sept. 16 in Raleigh, N.C., the Shelby Star reports.

Here's what you should know:

1. Dr. Reynolds served the North Carolina Medical Society for several years. He led the Legislative Cabinet for six years and served on several committees and task forces.

2. Dr. Reynolds co-founded Shelby (N.C.) Anesthesia Associates. The group was later absorbed into Mednax — Southeastern Anesthesiology.

3. Dr. Reynolds is the clinical director of Mednax's ASC.
