Dr. Ing will use a $75,000 grant from the Carl Koller Memorial Research Fund at the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine to study safety differences between regional anesthesia and general anesthesia in critically ill infants.
Dr. Ing also received a $100,000 SmartTots Research Grant from the International Anesthesia Research Society, which will allow him to research and improve upon the safety of pediatric anesthesia. Specifically, he will assess the association between the exposure to anesthetics in children younger than three years old and neuropsychological deficits at age 10.
