CMS Anesthesia Care Standards Outlined in AHC Media Book

AHC Media released a book to help guide anesthesia providers through changing CMS Conditions of Participation standards.

The book, titled “Cracking the Code: Understanding the CMS Hospital CoP Standards on Anesthesia,” also contains 4.5 hours of continuing nursing education credit, according to the report. The book dives into post anesthesia care unit standards, as well requirements for:
•    Anesthesia services
•    Organization and staffing
•    Pre-anesthesia evaluations
•    Record policies

The book also covers safe injection practices, adverse event protocols, difficult airway alert forms and more.
