Anesthesiologists Associated joined MEDNAX, a national anesthesia service provider, and Chattanooga Oncology & Hematology joined Tennessee Oncology, a regional cancer care group.

Consolidation helps practices combine resources and expertise to run more efficient businesses. It may also be easier for consolidated specialty groups to meet government regulations and reimbursement guidelines, according to the report.
