California anesthesiologist arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting patient

An anesthesiologist was arrested March 30 for alleged sexual assault of a patient, the Escondido (Calif.) Police Department announced.

A woman notified police March 28 that she was sexually assaulted by her physician, 40-year-old anesthesiologist Leng Thai Ky, MD, while unconscious.

Detectives gathered evidence of assault over the weekend and arrested Dr. Ky with "probable cause." Their investigation is ongoing.

In practice for nearly a decade, Dr. Ky is affiliated with North County Pain Institute in Escondido, as well as Desert Clinic Pain Institute in Rancho Mirage, Calif., according to ABC 10News.
