ASA taps Dr. Rene Przkora for pain medicine committee

The American Society of Anesthesiologists selected Rene Przkora, MD, PhD, to serve on its pain medicine committee.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Dr. Przkora is an associate professor of anesthesiology and pain medicine at Gainesville-based University of Florida.

2. He earned his medical degree from Germany-based University of Wuerzburg and his PhD from Germany-based University of Bonn. He completed an internship at Germany-based Medical University of Hannover before his research fellowship at Galveston-based Unviersity of Texas. He completed an additional residency at University of Florida and another fellowship at Boston-based Harvard University.

3. Dr. Przkora published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles.
