If passed, the legislation would repeal the IPAB, which could begin by April 30.
ASA co-founded the Repeal Coalition, and 26 medical specialties have joined support. The IPAB, established in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, lets unelected individuals designate Medicare spending cuts.
The IPAB cannot include practicing physicians, so many medical groups are working about how the lack of insight may negatively affect their practices.
