Anesthesiologist Dr. Steve Dickerson Wins State Senate Seat

Anesthesiologist Steve Dickerson, R-Tenn., won the state Senate seat against Phillip North, D-Tenn., in an embattled race to replace retiring 28-year Democratic Sen. Joe Haynes in District 20, according to The Tennessean.

Dr. Dickerson will be the first Republican senator from Davidson County in recollection and will represent a large portion of Nashville. He said his healthcare experience would help the General Assembly “navigate numerous battles in the coming years.”

Dr. Dickerson is the founding partner of Anesthesia Services Associate in Nashville. He received his medical degree at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forrest University in North Carolina.
