Anesthesiologist Appointed President of Doctors Without Borders

Anesthesiologist Deane Marchbein, MD, will serve as president of the U.S. division of Doctors Without Borders, an international organization providing healthcare in impoverished countries, according to a Boston Globe report.

Dr. Marchbein is a board certified anesthesiologist at Cambridge (Mass.) Health Alliance and is affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She joined Doctors Without Borders in 2006.

Dr. Marchbein received her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, completed her residency at Children’s Hospital Boston and Massachusetts General Hospital, and completed a fellowship at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
