1. Asa C. Lockhart, MD, co-founder of the Tyler, Texas-based Golden Caduceus Consultants, compiled several potential options for anesthesiologists concerning MACRA with insights from the American Medical Association and the Center for Healthcare Quality and Payment Reform.
2. Kathryn Hickner, of Chicago-based Ulmer & Berne LLP, provides an overview of MACRA’s quality payment program as well as its two tracks, the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System and Alternative Payment Models.
Ms. Hickner encourages anesthesiologists to “promptly and proactively develop a firm understanding and strategy to thrive under MACRA and the QPP.”
