The American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Anesthesia Quality Institute have partnered with EHR platform Epic for data optimization.

Through Epic’s community registries platform, the partnership will create an anesthesia community registry that aims to advance quality, safety and patient outcomes, according to a May 29 news release sent to Becker’s.

ASA will be the first society to implement the new medical registry platform to collect and organize healthcare information. AQI first created the National Anesthesia Clinical Outcomes Registry in 2008. It will work in tandem with Epic to allow for a more robust collection and reporting system.
