Here are five schools and institutions that are launching new anesthesia programs and expanding existing programs, as reported by Becker’s since Aug. 18.
- The Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in Huntington, W.Va., received initial accreditation to create a new anesthesiology residency program.
- The University of Oklahoma Board of Regents in Lawton approved the addition of a certified registered nurse anesthetist track within the Doctor of Nursing program.
- Kansas City University opened admissions for its new Master of Health Science in Anesthesiologist Assistant program.
- The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Northwest Regional Campus in Fayetteville received $3 million to expand its nurse anesthetists program.
- The University of Texas at Tyler School of Nursing received approval to launch a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nurse Anesthesia program.
