4 facts on ASA’s new president Dr. Daniel Cole

American Society of Anesthesiologists named Daniel J. Cole, MD, president.

Here are four facts:

1. Dr. Cole is a professor of clinical anesthesiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California in Los Angeles.

2. He is a past president of the California Society of Anesthesiologists and Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care.

3. He has held numerous positions in the ASA, most recently serving on the ASA Executive Committee as president-elect and a member of the Board of Directors.

4. He completed his anesthesiology residency at Loma Linda (Calif.) University and a fellowship in neuroanesthesia research at the University of California at San Diego.
