3 insights on anesthesia practice productivity

Physician-only and care team practices have “very comparable levels of productivity,” according to a data analysis conducted by Anesthesia Business Consultants President and CEO Tony Mira.

Three takeaways Mr. Mira shared:

1. The average number of physician-only units per provider day is about 50 units.

2. Practices may choose to employ or work with certified registered nurse anesthetists if their average daily yield doesn’t support a physician-only model.

3. Anesthesia providers have limited opportunities to generate extra units per day.
