Data breach

  • Trinity, Fla.-based Bay Area Anesthesia, a division of Envision Physician Services, was affected by a data breach involving third-party legal services provider Bowden Barlow’s computer systems.

Lawsuit

  • Two hospitals are alleging North American Partners in Anesthesia’s noncompete clauses violate antitrust laws.

New programs

  • Henderson, Nev.-based Roseman University of Health Sciences’ college of nursing is launching a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nurse Anesthesia program.
  • Athens-based Ohio University, in collaboration with Columbus-based OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, is launching a new nurse anesthesia program.

Severed contracts

  • In a voluntary agreement with Colorado’s attorney general, U.S. Anesthesia Partners will end its contracts with five Colorado hospitals due to its alleged monopoly in the state’s Denver and Durango markets.
