Physicians working in Wisconsin are the highest earning on average, according to Medscape’s “2023 Physician Compensation” report, which surveys over 10,000 physicians across 29 specialties annually.

2018: Indiana

2019: Oklahoma

2020: Kentucky

2021: Alabama

2022: Kentucky
