Physicians can use the Pure-Vu system to improve inadequately prepared bowels. The system helps the hospital lower length of stay and allow for colonoscopies to proceed as usual.
Nirav Thosani, MD, director of advanced endoscopy at the hospital, said, “Historically, these patients were delayed on the floor until we could ensure their bowels were clean enough to get a high-quality exam.”
The Pure-Vu system is used with standard and slim colonoscopes to allow for intra-procedure cleaning.
More than 20 U.S. hospitals use the Pure-Vu system.
