1. Dr. Rodriguez is slated to succeed SAMBA’s current president, Basem Abdelmalak, MD. 

2. Dr. Rodriguez has served as medical director of the Surgery Center of Aventura (Fla.) since 2008.

3. He works for Envision Physician Service in Plantation, Fla., as the assistant national medical director of ambulatory anesthesia, director of clinical quality and performance improvement for ambulatory anesthesia and chair of the Ambulatory Anesthesiology Quality Committee.

4. Dr. Rodriguez is also an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
