3 things to know about Grand Rapids Ophthalmology’s new VP

Grand Rapids Ophthalmology (Mich.) hired Zach Smith as its new vice president by its management company Blue Sky Vision, the Grand Rapids Business Journal reported.

Here are three details to know:

1. Mr. Smith previously served as the COO of Seattle-based Evergreen Eye Center where he oversaw over 100 employees across five locations with $17 million in revenue.

2. He succeeded Bob Wolford who worked for Grand Rapids Ophthalmology for 33 years. Mr. Wolford will serve as a senior advisor during the transition.

3. Mr. Smith was previously a U.S. Navy active duty medical service corps officer for six years

4. Blue Sky Vision manages Grand Rapids Ophthalmology and 15 other retail optical and surgical facilities.
