1. Mr. Smith will succeed Bob Wolford, who served in the role for 33 years. Mr. Wolford will serve the company as a senior advisor.
2. Mr. Smith most recently served as Seattle-based Evergreen Eye Center’s COO. At the center, he oversaw five locations that combined for $17 million in revenue.
3. Before that, Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Navy’s Medical Service Corps., for six years.
4. Mr. Smith has a master’s degree in health services administration programs from Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan.
5. Blue Sky Vision CEO Bill Hughson said, “We are fortunate to have an executive director of [Smith’s] caliber. His discipline and foresight will be instrumental as we grow and support our team of ophthalmologists and optometrists at Grand Rapids Ophthalmology.”
