Here are some of the tips she shared:
1. Ms. Geier said leaning on generational strengths can be beneficial when addressing challenges that arise during EHR adoption. If there are employees in your center who are skilled in using technology, ask them to mentor others who may not be as comfortable.
2. Utilizing nurses who came to your center from hospitals can be another way ASCs can better adopt EHR since they may be more familiar working with complex systems, Ms. Geier said.
3. Millennial managers who find older nurses leery of their leadership can lean on peers and their ASC’s human resources staff for advice on how to best handle the situation. Ms. Geier also recommended researching trends in millennial leadership to find some additional insight.
