Klein & Partners surveyed 2,000 U.S.-based adults, including 356 millennials, on behalf of Cox Media Group, to gauge their thoughts on orthopedic services.
Here’s what they found.
1. Millennials are causing demand to rocket, due to their active lifestyles that value health and wellness. Some 57 percent have undergone an orthopedic procedure as a result of a sports injury.
2. The most common reason millennials undergo surgery is if they’re in pain.
3. Millennials are more likely to choose a hospital for treatment first and then find a physician.
4. Approximately 37 percent of millennials said online advertising played a role in their decision on where to go for surgery, with 57 percent visiting a provider’s website prior to their visit.
5. Of those treated, 67 percent said surgery made them feel better, with 85 percent saying the surgical experience met or exceeded their expectations.
