AMR provides medical transportation and will partner with Lyft to provide on-demand, non-emergency medical transportation services for patients to and from the hospital. Here are five key notes:

1. The partnership includes technology integration and program expansion into 42 states where AMR operates.

2. AMR’s “One Call” service integrates patient transportation so hospitals and caregivers can arrange patient transportation with a single call or online portal visit. The transportation ranges from ride share services like Lyft to ambulance transportation.

3. The hospital, clinic or health plans can request and pay for rides for patients who wouldn’t otherwise have access to transportation, which could avoid missed appointments and wasted costs. Lyft costs are lower than traditional taxi costs.

4. Lyft’s platform gives hospitals and care managers transparent data on the transport spend to remove the risk of abuse associated with poorly tracked paper vouchers.

5. AMR will continue to offer the transitional modes of transportation for patients in addition to the Lyft access.
