1. Gov. Daugaard made the decision after discussing the plans of President-elect Donald Trump over the future of the ACA.
2. During President Barack Obama’s (D) two terms, South Dakota enrolled approximately 50,000 residents to the program.
3. State democrats called for the program’s expansion on the basis of its life-saving capabilities and positive economic impact, Senator Billie Sutton (D-SD) said.
4. Sen. Sutton plans to work with Mr. Trump’s administration and the governor to attempt another expansion effort.
