Volunteer group arranges for free colonoscopies for the underinsured in South Carolina: 3 things to know

Bluffton (S.C.) Jasper County Volunteers in Medicine is offering free colon cancer screenings for uninsured people, according to a WSAV report.

Here are three things to know:

1. John Crisologo, MD, of Beaufort (S.C.) Memorial Lowcountry Medical Group, is performing up to eight free colonoscopies a month.

2. Beaufort (S.C.) Pathology is also waiving the fees for their services as well.

3. Bluffton Jasper County Volunteers In Medicine aims to provide free medical care to the uninsured of greater Bluffton and Jasper counties.
