GI physician leader to know: Dr. Neena Abraham of Mayo Clinic

Neena S. Abraham, MD, is a practicing gastroenterologist and professor of medicine at Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic. She is a fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. She is the chair of the ABIM Maintenance of Certification program for the American College of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Abraham has a professional interest in cardiogastroenterology, gastrointestinal bleeding, colorectal cancer screening, peri-endoscopic antiplatelet and anticoagulant management as well as shared decision-making and communication support. She is an associate editor of Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as The American Journal of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Abraham earned her medical degree at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada. She completed her residency at University of Alberta Hospital, also in Canada. She completed fellowships in gastroenterology and therapeutic endoscopy at McGill University Health Centre in Quebec, Canada.
