Dr. Kinnucan clinical focus is the treatment of patients with inflammatory bowel disease, which includes Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as women’s gastrointestinal health. Her research centers on risk factors for development of dysplasia in IBD, the effects of sleep disturbances on disease activity and quality of life in IBD patients and evaluation of cannabis use and predictors in IBD patients. Her work has been published in journals such as Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Dr. Kinnucan earned her medical degree at University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed her residency at McGaw Medical Center at Northwestern University in Chicago and completed her fellowship at University of Chicago Medical Center.
