Niagara Falls illuminated in blue for national CRC awareness month: 3 notes

In honor of National Colon Cancer Awareness Month, blue light illuminated Niagara Falls at 10 p.m. on March 4, according to Niagara Frontier Publications.

Here are three notes:

1. To draw more attention to the cause, elected officials and medical professionals gathered at the Niagara Falls Visitor Center on March 4 to discuss prevention and treatment.

2. Colon cancer is the second-leading cancer killer in New York, despite it being highly preventable.

3. According to Renae Kimble, program coordinator of the Cancer Services Program of Niagara County at Niagara Falls (N.Y.) Memorial Medical Center, blue symbolizes colorectal cancer awareness and the memory of individuals who have dies from CRC.
