Nick Desien to retire as head of Ministry Health Care in Milwaukee: 5 notes

Nick Desien will retire from Milwaukee-based Ministry Health Care after 16 years as president and CEO on Dec. 31, 2015, according to the Milwaukee Wisconsin Sentinel Journal.

Here are five notes:

1. Ascension Health owns Ministry Health Care, which includes more than 10,000 employees, 14 Wisconsin hospitals, one Minnesota hospital and 46 clinics.

2. Dr. Desien serves as a senior vice president of Ascension and president and CEO of Ministry Health. He previously worked as CFO for Ministry Health, for which he’s worked 30 years.

3. As president and CEO, Dr. Desien administered the acquisitions of Howard Young Health Care and Good Samaritan Health.

4. He also oversaw the construction of Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital.

5. Ascension will name an interim president and CEO in December.
