Here are four key points:

1. This poll was created in response to the recent price hiking of drugs for critical diseases.

2. Sixty-three percent of poll respondents said they would strongly support government intervention in lowering prescription drug costs.

3. Prices for widespread brand-name drugs increased 128 percent between 2008 and 2014, according to Express Scripts.

4. Despite many presidential candidates bringing the discussion into their campaigns, government action on the topic will most likely not come to fruition in a Republican-dominated Congress.
