Dr. Lieberman hoped to collect data on who was receiving colonoscopies and endoscopies, procedure indications and results. He established a computerized report generator with a grant from the National Institutes of Health. The project eventually grew to 80 different sites and aggregated data on 4 million procedures, according to the report.
Now, Due North, also based in Portland, hopes to commercialize the technology. CORI2 (Clinical Outcomes Reporting Informatics) offers reporting and tracking software, as well as image generation. Due North aims to translate what began as a research project into a platform for general sale.
